Gold Distraction// Casual NYE

    | Slip Dress: Forever21| Thigh High Boots: LolaShoetique| Turtleneck: Forever21| Denim Jacket: Vintage

With 2017 around the corner, NYE and NYE looks are on my mind. Even though this look wasn't really intended for the holiday season I still think it could work for a really chill and understated get-together. Just a relaxed setting with friends where you can look really stylish but stay comfortable. This slip dress from Forever21 is really versatile and I cant wait to share more styled looks featuring it.

Walking Fine Lines//

|Sheer Dress: Forever21| Jeans: Thrift Store| Bomber Jacket: Amazon| Sneakers: Kenneth Cole| Turtleneck: Forever21

Playing with lengths and layers is always fun. You see designers and celebrity stylists play around with both elements all the time, so I decided that it's time I join in.  I thought starting with something a little on the safe side would be better and I was right because this outfit turned out fantastic.  A little different for me, but what is fashion about if it's not about pushing your personal boundaries, am I right?

Playlist No1// Finals Week

For those of you in college, finals week is upon us. Stress is at a all time high, sleep deprivation and anxiety have moved in and you may feel like overall crap. Trust me when I say that I'm right there with you, so I've decided to share some of the music I listen to when I'm stressing out of my mind. It's all soothing and filled with positive vibes. Featuring Corrine Bailey Rae, H.E.R, Jessie Ware and many other artists. I hope to make more playlists in the future.

Edit: Kenzo x H&M

I feel as if this may have been a risk for H&M.
Ever since their wildly successful Balmain x H&M collection the bar had been raised for other companies to rise to the occasion leaving H&M to slowly drift to the front of the pack. However with the recent release of this new collection, I'm sad to say that this was a flop. Now don't get me wrong, I for one thought that this collection was a beautiful and wonderful representation of the direction Lim and Leon plan to take the brand while, still keeping its integrity and iconocism. But when you compare, and you can't help but compare, this launch didn't ensue the same frenzy.  The difference between this year and last year is the social media presence, the launch was anticipated yes, but it lacked a certain presence on the internet. The whole point of these collaborations is to make beautiful clothes and also launch certain high-end brands into a more commercial market. And the way you facilitate that nowadays is by building a social media following or to be #trending. I simply didn't see that.

I highly doubt that this slight failure will impact both parties in any shape or form, but it does leave a door open for other designers and companies.

How wide this opening is, stands to be seen.

Denim Dream

We just won't talk about how long its been, 'cause it has been a long while. But I thought I would come back with something a little on the casual side, while giving you a little update.
It's so strange to be away from home and actually do this whole "adulting" thing because I think I'm turning out to be quite a natural. Being on my own I've really began to explore my personal style and what I'm considering stylish and with NYFW behind us, I find myself really inspired. The concept of fashion has reshaped itself in my mind and I'm excited for what that means for not only my future looks, but also my demeanor and the direction I take with my blog.

A universal language that we all understand not with our minds but with our souls, as corny as that may sound. Music has always been as source of inspiration and therapy and ever since I began to collect vinyl I have grown to appreciate the work it takes to create an album. Holding a physical record turns experiencing music from a purely cerebral event to one in the tangible world. And because of that experience I felt the need to share my 5 favorite records from my small collection.

  1. Florence and the Machine : How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful
  2. Max Steiner: Gone With the Wind (music from the original motion picture)
  3. Sinatra: The Main Event LIVE
  4. Kim Carnes: Mistaken Identity
  5. Diana Ross: Ross

Beauty Review: Elf's Baked Highlighter

So I know for a fact that I'm not the only one out there with a broke girl mentality. I'm not the only one that clutches her purse a little to tightly when it comes to spending some coin. But that doesn't mean I like to look sub-par, I personally like to believe that reasonable prices shouldn't mean bad quality. Not that spending a $150 on a product that's completely worth it is a bad thing, but I'm a lowly high school senior and I ain't there yet. That's why products like Elf's Backed Highlighter in Blush Gems is such a life saver.

I've just left that beaming stage of applying highlight and that's great for glam makeup, but I've really been trying to go the more natural route. I've been looking for a product that doesn't have large particles because it has the tendency of looking like straight glitter (which isn't bad), I wanted something that would give a subtle glow. And this highlight does that. It's really pigmented, so a little goes a long way, and the pink undertones really suits my mocha caramel skin tone. It's build-able, so that strobed look can be achieved.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that its a little hard to pick up the pigment with a brush so a finger or even a sponge is preferred, and the actual products texture is a little chalky. But it blends really well and look really natural, like your glowing from within. I got this product for the beautiful price of $3 at Target.

OOTD: Band Tee & Khaki

The things we sacrifice for fashion! It was absolutely freezing, don't let the sunshine fool you because it lies. I seriously needed some gloves, but I wasn't really feeling them with this outfit, so my poor fingers had to suffer. Anyhoo I really like this outfit, the vibe is very off-duty model, but not. I really think that I'm starting to reach what my comfort zone consists of while still pushing myself creatively in terms of the outfits I seem to be drawn too. I've really started to embrace the  downtown girl inside of me, who seems to be best friends with the puff princess who is her neighbour. I've really been enjoying juxtaposing the two sides inside of me while mixing them at the same time... If that makes any sense.

I hope you enjoy this post!

Sunday Vibe: Freedom Fry

I really enjoy this track, especially for Valentine's day! This band usually sound very pop folk but, I really like the direction this track has taken. The beat is very reminiscent of late 90's or early 20's soft electronic, like early daft punk. I enjoy the vibe and the lyrics are catchy but not annoyingly so. Freedom Fry is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles, California, United States that I feel I should share. Enjoy!

Make sure you follow me on sounclound, for more music.

do you love me,

just say the words."

January Favorites& ft. NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker

January was an exciting month with an abundance of flurries sprinkled on top. I turned 18, I bought some makeup, I didn't die after the end of term at my school. All in all, it was a good month, it wasn't perfect but there were moments here and there that made it all the brighter. Celebrating my birthday with my closest friend and my family, getting amazing gifts, warm tea, great movies and not freezing my lil' tushie off in a snow storm.

But I am looking forward to moving on to the next month, because even though I like to think of myself as a living in the moment type of person, I am counting down the days to graduation. High school is just...meh. Anyway, I digress,  because this post is all about my January favorites!

I was really into buying products that just made me feel good. And I feel as if these products did just the job.

Maybelline Fit-Me Foundation
Nyx Super Skinny Eye Marker
Ted Baker Rose Gold/Gold Watch
Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara

I don't do my makeup on the regular but these products made the process so easy. Of course, I'm sure the majority of you know about Maybelline's Fit-Me Foundation, we've all heard every beauty guru, youtuber and their cousin rave about this product and I'm not going to lie, it exceeded my expectations. It's really long lasting and it blends perfectly with the skin. It has buildable coverage which I like because my skin isn't really bad so medium coverage is what I personally prefer.

The mascara is also really great, my lashes always come out looking really full and long without the annoying clumping. Urban Decay just knows what it's doing. I got the tester size and it has lasted me for so long almost 4 months now, which just goes to show how much product you're getting.

The eyeliner is great too, but the only annoying thing about it is that to get the product to come out really black I have to shake it before use, and I don't think it is the actual product's fault, it's the applicator. Like felt tip applicators it can fade or get dull, so that's the only thing that I wish I could change but other than that, its perfect.

The watch was a gift and I'm obsessed! (Thanks mommy! Mwah!!)

Thanks for reading and here is a picture of me wearing all these products, except the wacth.
